POTTERY CANDLE LANTERN (Alternative process)

Wheel thrown and altered using an alternative method building process;
This lovely creamy-white lantern holds one medium sized pillar candle, and is guaranteed to receive as many compliments as questions because of the filigree style.
Light reflects so beautifully through the design and onto the ceiling and walls.

The process used for the front is made with liquid or "slip" clay, and added at the exact time/moisture level to dry perfectly with the main piece, and must be dried extremely slowly so as to ensure no cracking. This is definitely an advanced process in creating thrown and altered pottery, as it's not "carved."
